With awareness of our responsibility to nature, society, and the future…
At Odeon Tourism Management Inc., sustainability is a core principle of our operations, in line with the “World of Care” philosophy of Coral Travel Group, of which we are a proud affiliate. We believe that tourism should not only contribute to economic growth but also preserve the environment, empower local communities, and protect cultural heritage. Guided by this vision, we minimize environmental impacts across our entire value chain, maximize social benefits, and implement comprehensive corporate responsibility policies to leave a more livable world for future generations. Our goal is to operate in harmony with nature, creating a model that protects the environment, strengthens society, and supports economic sustainability. In this journey, we engage all stakeholders—from guests and business partners to employees and local communities.
Environmental Policy and “Green Manifesto”
Our environmental approach is rooted in the “Environment and Green Manifesto”, published in 2009. We view the protection of natural resources not merely as an environmental policy but as an integral part of our corporate quality standards. In line with this philosophy, we prioritize low-water-consumption plants in landscaping, and we aim to reduce pesticide and chemical use each year.
Through the “Coral Forest” project, we contribute to carbon reduction while raising awareness about climate change. These efforts are tangible examples of how tourism can operate in full harmony with nature.
Since 2024, in collaboration with Ecording, we have donated one seed for every tourist arriving in Turkey. To date, 250,000 seeds have been returned to nature, creating a broad ecological impact. This initiative also allows our guests to actively participate in sustainability efforts, promoting strong social awareness.
Climate, Energy, and Resource Efficiency
Efficient use of natural resources such as energy and water is a key pillar of our sustainability strategy. We regularly monitor energy consumption across all our facilities, invest in renewable energy, and adopt technologies that enhance efficiency.
In 2024, we reduced electricity consumption by 4% and water consumption by 17–19% across our properties. During the 2025 peak season (May–August), per guest-night consumption data shows continued efficiency improvements:
• Seven Seas Hotel Life: Electricity consumption decreased by 0.40% and water consumption by 7.19%. A4 paper usage dropped by 16.77%, and recyclable waste decreased by 44.63%. • Marvida Family Eco: Electricity usage fell by 1.11%, and A4 paper usage decreased by 10.36%, supported by digitalization efforts.
Water-saving equipment, modern irrigation systems, and guest awareness initiatives are key to these improvements. Efforts to reduce single-use plastics and increase digital-based paper savings continue with determination.
Circular Economy and Waste Management
Proper waste segregation, reuse promotion, and strong recycling processes form the backbone of our circular economy approach. We significantly reduce food waste through portion control and efficient menu planning. Usable equipment and furniture are refurbished and distributed to those in need through NGOs and municipalities, creating a holistic waste management system that produces both environmental and social benefits.
Social Contribution and Corporate Responsibility
Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the environment. We implement projects that support social development, collaborating with organizations such as UNICEF, TEMA, HAYTAP, ÇEKÜL, and TOFD to create a broad social impact.
Through UNICEF programs, we provide life-saving rehydration salts, ready-to-eat meals, vaccines, and multivitamin-mineral supplements, benefiting 60,500 children worldwide. Our “Firefly Mobile Learning Unit” project has supported education for approximately 7,000 children.
We also support young athletes through “Young Rackets” and “Coral Junior Cup Tennis Europe”, and have sponsored visually impaired athletes’ climbs of Mount Ararat. In addition, we collaborate with the Association for Supporting Contemporary Life to provide accommodation and educational support to successful female students in Eastern Anatolia.
Support for Cultural and Scientific Initiatives
We believe tourism gains deeper value when it preserves cultural heritage and supports scientific research. We highlighted the development of Turkish tourism history through the “150 Years of Turkish Tourism” exhibition and contributed to the BEAN Project, studying cultural and archaeological links between Europe and Anatolia. We continue to sponsor cultural and artistic events internationally, fostering cross-cultural interaction.
